PRIVACY POLICY LINDNER LAW
Declaration on the obligation to inform
Last update: June 2022
Welcome to our website. Thank you for your interest in our law firm. This privacy statement informs you about the processing of your personal data when using our website.
GENERAL
Data protection is important to us. As a matter of course we pay close attention to compliance with all applicable laws on the security and confidentiality of personal data. The applicable legal standards are in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Austrian Data Protection Act (DPA) and the Austrian Telecommunications Act (TKG).
We are a transparent and privacy friendly company and protect you beyond the legal requirements. We only collect data that is absolutely necessary and refrain from using tracking- and marketing cookies at all. In addition, we do not use third-party tools and services (e.g. route planning) on our website that eventually track your data. This way, we prevent data, such as your IP address, from reaching/leaving/passing/getting and being stored outside Europe (especially the US).
We have deliberately designed our website as a safe space. We ensure that as little data as possible is collected, stored and passed on. This means that fewer resources – especially energy – are used to store, analyse and evaluate this data. We disclose all processes that take place in the background when you visit our website so that you can understand exactly what happens to your data.
DATA PROTECTION
What is “personal data”?
Personal data is any information that relates to a natural person or at least allows conclusions to be drawn about that person (in particular name, e-mail address, IP address).
What data is collected from visitors and users of our website?
When accessing our website, we only process absolutely necessary data and only use those Cookies that are essential for the correct display of the website. We use the following technically necessary cookies: …. (KANDA.)
If you use the contact form on our website, we receive, collect and store all those entries that you share with us (name, contact option, your request and related documents) for the sole purpose of processing your request.
We would like to point out that the provider of the website automatically collects and transmits your IP address, browser and language setting, operating system, referrer URL, your Internet service provider and date/time in server log files. However, this data will not be merged with your personal data.
The data processing carried out through the use of cookies is based on our legitimate interest in providing a fully functional website (Art. 6(1) GDPR). We do not pass on your data to third parties and do not allow third parties to access your data via Cookies (see Cookies).
Duration of storage of personal data
We store your personal data only as long as it is necessary for contractual and legal obligations or retention obligations exist. After this period has expired, and if there is no further justified interest in storing your data, we will delete it.
Data security and disclaimer
We pay close attention to the security of our website against unlawful access in order to protect your personal data. Despite the high standards of our precautions, unauthorized access by third parties (e.g. by hackers) cannot be completely ruled out. We ask for your understanding that we do not assume any liability for data transmission errors not caused by us. Possible damage can be minimised by being careful with the disclosure of your personal data in advance.
COOKIES
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that every website caches on your computer or other device when you visit it. The purpose of cookies is to recognize visitors to the website and to ensure effective functionality while using the website.
Our Cookie Policy
We want to make your visit to our website as easy and pleasant as possible. Therefore, we intentionally refrain from using tracking- and marketing cookies from third-party providers, that are not absolutely necessary for the functioning of the website and, at most, process data from you. This allows us to refrain from noticing you and obtaining your declaration of consent.
Session cookies, which are technically necessary for the functionality of the website and over which we have no control, are deleted after the browser is closed and do not remain on your end device. We do not use permanent cookies, which are stored on your end device even after you leave our website. We would like to point out that you can set your browser to automatically block and delete cookies and website data.
TOOLS AND SERVICES FROM THIRD PARTIES
OpenStreetMap
To avoid tracking, we do not use the popular Google Maps service and instead use the OpenStreetMap service, which only shows our office location and does not allow route planning.
Google Fonts
On our website, we use Google Web Fonts for uniform display of the text. However, we store the fonts locally, thus avoiding data transmission to Google.
Videos
We deliberately avoid using third-party providers to embed videos and host our videos locally on our server. In this way, we prevent third-party cookies from being set when the videos are played and thus your data from being stored and processed by third-party providers.
Embedding the third-party providers YouTube and Vimeo, which are frequently used for this purpose and are based in the United States, would mean that the data processing would be exempt from the strict European regulations.
YOUR RIGHTS
Your rights are:
– Transparent information, communication and modalities for the exercise of your rights (Art 12 GDPR)
– Obligation to provide information when collecting data (Art 13 and 14 GDPR)
– Right of access of your information (Art 15 GDPR)

– Right to erasure – right to be ‘forgotten’ (Art 17 GDPR)
– Right to restriction of processing (Art 18 GDPR)
– Right to data portability (Art 20 GDPR)
– Right to object (Art 21 GDPR)
The storage of personal data is only permitted with the consent of the persons concerned. You have the right to object to the storage of your data at any time and to request its deletion, with the exception of data that we must retain due to administrative requirements or legal regulations.
If you have any questions regarding our privacy policy or the stored information about you, please contact: datenschutz@lindner-law.at
In case of complaints, you can contact us or the Austrian data protection supervisory authority.
